Episode 50: A Disturbance in Central

I think this is the episode where the tension really starts. Everyone is getting ready to do their thing. Both sides, humans and homonculus alike are now doing their own plan in their hope for achieving their victory.

Building from the ending in episode 49, Mustang's group is saved by a group of men hiding in the rafters. While this might be a saving glory for Mustang, Bradley's wife is shocked to realize that either his men have abandoned him or she was abandoned by his husband. Mustang assures her of her safety but he still didn't tell that his husband is actually MIA.

When it comes to fight, it appears that Mustang is only injuring the Central forces and is avoiding to give them vital shots that might cause their death. This act pisses the Commander because they think Mustang's group is going easy on them. They send in more men to face Mustang and his group.

Back at HQ, Olivier is mocking the Central's soldiers lack of experience. She asks to take control over the forces but was refused by the other general, pointing out that she is in their custody. They want to keep her from her soldiers in Briggs to avoid any more rebellion. Olivier just laughed out this accusation stating that her soldiers are trained to live in a survival of the fittest type of condition. This means that if she fall, they will simply think that she's too weak.

By work of fate or not, the Briggs soldiers arrived in the scene. It turns out, they were hidden in the Armstrong manor. Mustang's men also get ammos from Rebecca, Hawkeye's friend. The ice cream truck that contains the ammo is actually driven by Maria Ross who reports back to the scene. The group was able to run away thanks to the truck and then Mustang gets to talk to the supplier of their ammunition, Jean Havoc.

For Ed's party, they can see that Mustang's operations is currently in progress. They will be heading for Father, so they will use the underground tunnel that May Chang and Scar previously used. The group left the injured Heinkel behind along with Marcoh and Yoki. Before leaving, Ed visits Al inside the dome to give him updates. Without them knowing, Pride is sending a message to Father by tapping Al's head through Morse Code, so on the side of the homonculus, they can get a pretty good update.

Again at HQ, the other higher ups asked her to tell her soldiers to withdraw but she said they took her authority over them. We all know Olivier so her act now comes to an end as she draws her sword and stabbed a general in the arm. She also gave the other general a nice head shot.

One of the problem that Ed's group has to face is the large number of troops that they need to face. Ed suggest to use the tunnel in the Third Research Laboratory. Using his position as a State Alchemist, they were able to enter the laboratory without any problem. After finding the tunnel which goes both ways, they decided to split their group into two. Ed, Scar and the chimeras go left while Hoenheim and Lan Fan went the other way. Hoenheim opted to go with Lan Fan so that he can let her go and proceed to finding Ling and to this, Lan Fan gave him her thanks.

The episode ended with one of the Central's higher ups decided to activate the homonculus army to be used in the uprising. After awakening, they shrieked like hell and they were heard by everyone including May Chang who is also underground.

  1. Thank you for this!

When Pride starting tapping on Al's head, the whole code thing was the first thing I thought about. I would have taken it away from him anyway, it would have been too anoying~
Olivier is so hard core; I had wondered on what she had planned to do once she was in. I also found it funny that Ed's dad is more soft-hearted than he is, although what Ed did was not really necessary! xD
Is it safe to assume that the red pair of eyes in the back there was Greed? No idea otherwise.
That shreiking gave such a foreboding feeling, that would be so creepy to hear that in real life. They remind me of zombies, but more... awesome.

  2. I really wonder why Al didn't bother Pride's tapping. It's really irritating. You're trapped inside a dome with nothing to do and all you could hear is an annoying tapping of a kid. If it is me, I would have asked him to stop tapping my head. Hahahaha.

About this screams, OMG..I would really be irritated hearing that in real life. It's not so friendly to my ears at all. And yeah, they sound so zombie like. I don't want to hear that.
