Special Umineko double post!

Episode 7: The Queen's Move
Episode 8: Week Square

I kinda understand how the story will go after watching these two episodes.

More updates from me will posted this long weekend :)

The second arc of Umineko officially begins as Battler and Beatrice begin their deduction showdown. As mentioned by Beatrice, the game would go on a endless loop until the time that Battler can accept the presence of witch and their magic.

Since everything restarted, the story again begins with the Ushiromiya family gathering at Rokkenjima island.

Here are the changes that happend per episode:

Episode 7:

  • Events prior to the family members arriving at the island is being shown. We can see a very annoying Maria who gets slapped by Rosa. Maria is demanding treats for the Halloween that is still almost a month away.

  • Natsuhi has a plan of keeping the other siblings away from Kinzou and her got Genji and Nanjo as her accomplices.

  • Inside the chapel, Klaus, Natsuhi, Hideyoshi, Eva, Rosa and Rudolf met with Beatrice and accepted her presence.

Episode 8:

  • Klaus, Natsuhi, Hideyoshi, Eva, Rosa and Rudolf became the first sacrifices. Instead of destroying their faces, their bellies were gouged with candies. There's also a jack-o-lantern on the table containing three gold bars.

  • Kanon and Jessica pair is much stressed in this episode. It now seemed possible that these two would be together, had it not been that they are dead.

  • Rosa, instead of Natsuhi carried a gun to protect everybody.

Rules of the Game:

  • The rules are pretty simple. Battler just needs to explain how things happen without the use of any magic. To prevent from Battler from saying that there's incomplete evidence or information, every time Beatrice speaks the truth, a red sentence will appear. But she holds the right not to justify the truth she said..it's just a mere declaration of facts.

  • From time to time, the game would pause because meta-Battler and meta-Beatrice would appear as Battler would attempt to give his systematic explanations as to how the crime occurred.

Other important points:

  • Rosa seems to have a weird personality. At one time she is motherly and kind to Maria but later on, she would become violent and would hurt Maria because of her annoying mannerisms.

  • When Beatrice appeared for the first time as a guest, she talked to Maria and gave Maria an envelope that contains the key to the chapel. She also gave an envelope to Rosa and instructed her to read the note when the siblings are gathered together.

  • Beatrice summoned two of her furniture. The first is Asmodeus who represents Lust and the second is Satan who represents Wrath. What's weird is that Beatrice is wearing her dress. When she appears as the guest...she is wearing a short skirt but this time, a Beatrice in dress appeared.

  • And what's with the sword like thing that appeared when Kanon fought Beatrice? It looked cool! Hahaha.

Battler vs. Beatrice

As of Episode 8, Battler was able to identify the following truths:
  • Ignoring whether they were alive or dead, the six victims got into the chapel through the door.
  • Only one key to the chapel exists.
  • It is impossible for anything besides the key to the chapel to unlock or pick the lock on the door.
  • The key in the envelope given to Maria was indeed the key to the chapel.
Battler was also able to infer that someone took the key, killed the six victims, and put it back where it was. And while this would avoid magic as an explanation, it doesn’t impress meta-Beatrice at all. She said that meta-Battler's theory would also imply that Battler would suspect one of his family members.

It was also confirmed by Nanjo-sensei that Kinzou had a lover called Beatrice who died, though she haven't seen who is this Beatrice is. Kinzou plans to revive his dead lover with the use of black magic.

I do hope I got everything right. Hahaha. I really is hard to take note of everything that had happened. If I still miss something......please do let me know.
