Special Parfait of the Week: DNAngel

Niwa Daisuke is your average teenager, until his fourteenth birthday. He tries to declare his love to the girl of his dreams, but fails. Suddenly, whenever he thinks about this girl he turns into the legendary phantom thief known as Dark Mousy. Daisuke's mother, very much aware of this, makes him turn into Dark and steal valuable works of art for a purpose unkown to Daisuke. As the story unfolds, he learns why, and about his classmate who seems to have the same ability.

This is one of the very first anime that got me so addicted. I never get to watch the subbed version of this one. I only relied to Hero TV, a local channel that shows anime that are dubbed in Filipino. Even so, I was instantly captured by this series especially that it has a strong element of romance and love, not to mention bishounen character of Dark.

The other thing that I love about this series is its music. They are soft and mellow songs that are so good to listen and rest. Literally, it would really make you fall asleep. My favorite is the one entitled Byakuya ~True Light~ by Miyamoto Shunichi. If you wanna listen to it, here's a video of it's acoustic version that I found at Youtube:

The story mainly revolves with the battle of Dark and Light. This is kinda unique since Light is the antagonist while Dark is the protagonist. Dark is a little bit like Kaitou Kid. They are both thiefs that steals important items for bigger reason. Both of them are also handsome and cute that girls would fantasize over them.

I totally enjoyed watching this series. It's only for 26 episodes so if you're interested, go ahead and watch this nice series :)

  1. i couldn't agree more about the music... it really put me to sleep sometimes...

i like this one, it is pretty original, but the pacing was slow sometimes, and frankly it got a bit boring in the middle, but then it was ok...

yeah, that's why the dnangel music is not on my ipod. i might fall asleep @ work.hahaha.

in the middle are filler episodes..its only towards the end that the action and suspense goes high.

  3. Seems to be pretty interesting.
Is there a manga? I´m not that interested in animes. However, if there´s no manga, I think I watch it. 26 episodes. Similiar to Death Note.

    Thank you :)
