Basically, this movie is all about distance and relationships. Well, I don't have any first hand experience to this one as I have not been in any long distance relationships. But I did realize something - the importance of communication in a relationship. The movie was set during the time where cellphones, YM, and chat are not yet discovered. It's the time where communication greatly relies on snail mails and letters. As I have said in my LJ account, if those two were born in a more modern world, then the story would not be the same. Most probably, they can still contact each other no matter how far one is. Because we now have faster means to communicate, the relationships that we have with other people is much more easier to maintain and nourish. May it be romantic relationships or a friendly one, our need for communication is now answered by the technologies available for all of us.
If your interested with my longer post about this one, you can visit my LJ account here.
