Episode 62: The Violent Counterattack

Finally, I am on Episode 62 already. I am about to catch up to latest subbed episode. I do hope to watch that by   tomorrow so that when the new episode comes in next week, I can watch it especially that it's already the final episode for FMA Brotherhood.

Father is at the surface turning Briggs soldiers in Philosopher's stone but luckily, Hoenheim and everyone else arrived just in time to stop him. Hoenheim accuses Father that what he will do will just give birth to homonculi and the cycle continues. But Father has a good answer to this accusation because he, too, can give birth to humans. He released some of the souls of the people of Xerxes, including the king himself as well as other people whom Hoenheim knows.

Everyone is not too happy to see those souls and around that same time, Ed arrives after his fight with Pride. Father then releases an energy blast that is enough to wipe everyone, including the souls he just released.

Back on the underground, Greed recommends to leave the injured behind and that includes Olivier, Jerso, Sig, and the other Brigg soldiers. Olivier gives Armstrong the communication device so that he can give them constant updates about what is happening.

Back on Central's surface, half of the Central HQ has been wiped away from Father's blast. Al has shielded May from the blast and he has suffered the damage as well. But really, it was Hoenheim who saved them all as he became the shock absorber of the attack. Everyone is still alive, all thanks to him. Father then tosses the weakened Hoenheim to go after Izumi and Ed to turn them to Philosopher's stone.

Good thing, this was interrupted by the Briggs soldiers who regrouped and decides to help in pinning down Father. While Father is busy with the Briggs solidiers, Ed, Izumi and Hoenheim goes to a safe place. The soliders' attacks may seem to be nothing for Father but soon enough, Mustang arrives to extinguish Father with his fire. With enough help from Riza to provide him the direction and the amount of fire to suppress, Mustang was again able to make himself useful in the battlefield. He admits, though, that this clapping business is still something new for him.

Alex, Lan Fan, Greed and others help with the attack, but Father didn't have a small scratch. Another thing, Greed's trapped with Father who wants his Philosopher's stone. but this is just Greed's fake act. With this, an opening is made and Ed, Izumi and Alex used this opportunity to attack. Father is still able to attack and crushes Ed's automail arm, but he blocked Ed's kick with his arm; an indication that he is at his limit.Hoenheim explains that Father's stone supply is deficient so he cannot properly contain God anymore. True enough, Father is getting at his limit and is about to go in his self destruction mode.

After going rampage, Father desperately finds someone to turn to become a Philosopher's stone. He finds Ed stucked in a debris and starts to approach him. Ed cannot clap nor do anything to fight back and everyone starts to get worried. Al panics and starts to move, but his broken body is almost at his limit. Recognizing this fact, Al makes a decision. With the help of May, Al will sacrifice his soul in exchange for his brother's arm. Ed protests and obviously doesn't want the idea but nonetheless, Al proceeds.

At the gate, Al met his body and they rejoin. Al is back to his original body and Truth appears. He wonders if Ed will back, to which Al says that he is so sure of that. Truth says that he is looking forward and is interested to see what Ed will trade to get his brother back.

With his arms back, Ed quickly fights back and sends continuous attacks to Father. Everyone cheers him and says that he may have a chance to win. From the side, Greed watches and he finally realizes that what he really wanted to have are friends.

  1. Yay~ Mustang's still got some flames to deliver! Too bad he missed, though.

    When I realized what Alphonse was going to do all I could think of was how the other FMA ended, but I do get his point: an almost destroyed piece of armor, or a (with the help of an arm)fully capable alchemist?

    Alphonse's coming back, though, so I am happy.

    OMG. Exciting!

    @DayDreamer95..
    Mustang's comeback is my favorite!!! At least, he can still fight amidst being blind.
    I also had the same reaction with you, I remembered the first ever FMA and basically, the same thing happened but under the different scenario :)
