Episode 53: Flames of Revenge
This is the start of Mustang's long awaited revenge for Hughes' death.

Episode 53 reveals the plan of Roy Mustang about coup de' etat and why does he need to take Bradley's wife with him. The plan all along is to do stir mistrust and make it appear to the public that the upper echelon of the military is actually the one staging a coup de' etat. Using the radio, Mrs. Bradley spoke of how the army  ordered for her death . She thanks Mustang for saving her because if it weren't for Mustang, she might be really be dead by the time Wrath comes back.

Breda then comes inside the studio booth to reveal to Mrs. Bradley that his husband is actually missing and the train that he is on exploded. The poor wife is weaken by this news, and she is also dead worried about Selim whom she cannot contact too. With this, it can really appear that someone in the military wants to overthrow King Bradley.

The information spread very fast, all thanks to Scar's Ishvalan friends who helps spread the misinformation. In Central HQ, the general orders for the broadcast to stop but the person from the station fakes that they are hostages of Mustang and that they pointing guns at them. The radio station is actually hyped that they can get a scoop about the coup de' etat so they are really willing to cooperate with Mustang.

And oh, among the many listeners, Havoc is there and also Danny Brosh heard Maria Ross' voice who also spoke to the radio talking about justice. Looking relieved, he is teary-eyed upon knowing about this.

On the other areas of the HQ, a certain general is wondering why his troops cannot stop the Briggs' forces. Then, he receives a phone call from his man informing him that the Briggs' men have something big - and these big are military tanks.

In the 3rd laboratory, Mustang comes to the rescue of Ed and everyone else who are so tired facing the mannequins. Using his flame power, he easily burned every mannequin, ending their problem. In the vents, May Chang is running from Envy. They fell to where Ed and everybody else are. May gets scolded by Scar for going back but then forgives her for doing so. Envy is surprised to see that everyone else is there, including Roy Mustang.

Roy asks the question he is dying to ask ...who killed Maes Hughes. Envy avoids the question by answering its Maria Ross, but Roy knows he is lying. Envy admits the murder and he changed his face to Gracia which really angered Roy.

He instructs everyone else to go ahead for Envy is his prey. Envy doesn't want anyone leave the scene but Roy burned his tongue, injuring him. Ed is worried to go but the chimera guys took him and besides Riza said that they can manage. Envy now transforms to his true form and this doesn't scare Roy who is now agitated to kill him. Mustang burned his eye balls and then throws at him multiple flame shots. Envy managed to escape by smashing the wall. Roy ran after him after ordering Hawkeye to stay and wait for him.

As Roy is following Hawkeye, he shows his anger by burning Envy to death. Worried about Roy, Riza decides to follow. As for Ed's group, they are now passing on tubes and cables and as May noticed, a huge amount of energy is at the center. Ed decides to call for Scar because he is worried about Roy that he might be engulfed by vengeance. Back to Roy, he lost Envy who is hiding. Envy then used Hughes' form but that doesn't stop Roy from burning Envy.

Envy tries to get close to Mustang to stop him from using his huge flames but this won't do either. Mustang can pinpoint what part does he want to burn and for starters, he again gave Envy's eyes a taste of burning, forcing Envy to again escape. He then sees Riza walking down the tunnel and he just had the best of ideas.

A little later, Mustang and Riza met in the tunnel. Mustang said that he lost Envy because the place is like a maze. He then said that he will need Riza's help but suddenly, Riza takes out her gun and points it at the Mustang's head.
