Characters from left to right: Aisaka Taiga, Takasu Ryuuji, Kawashima Ami, Kushieda Minori and Kitamura Yuusaku
It’s a new school year and Ryuuji Takasu discovers not only is he in the same class as his best friend, Yusaku Kitamura, but also Minori Kukshieda whom he's had an undisclosed crush on for quite some time. Along with Kitamura and Minori is Minori's best friend, the “Palmtop Tiger”, tiny Taiga Aisaka whom, despite her small stature, takes nothing from nobody. Taiga is secretly in love with Kitamura and she and Ryuuji, despite an oil and water relationship, agree to mutually support each other in their quests for their heart’s desire.
Quoted from: Anime News NetworkFor those who are fans of Romance Comedies such as myself, you will surely love Toradora!
Even though with just watching the first episode, you might correctly predict who would end up together -- the series proved itself to be a unique gem among many of the series that one may know of. The main characters are all lovable, from the fragile-looking tsundere Taiga, to the crazy heartthrob-achiever Yuusaku. There are not much dull moments in the series with all of Taiga's and Ryuuji's attempts to try to bring each other closer to who they think they really love with.
Although I do agree with some who have read the manga before the anime that the character illustrations were not translated very well (especially with Yuusaku), the way the story was played was good and fulfilled its attempt at bringing the characters and their personalities to life.
I highly recommend this to everyone who appreciates a good storyline and brilliant and realistic characters. Those who are fans of series like Midori no Hibi and Honey and Clover will instantly love this little gem of a series.
