Maaya Sakamoto
With the release of Kobato, a new CLAMP anime, it is only right to recognize the seiyuu behind the most popular CLAMP show, Maaya Sakamoto.
Maaya Sakamoto 坂本真綾 was born March 31, 1980 at Itabashi, Tokyo. She entered the world of voice acting with her first role as Hitomi Kanzaki in the series, The Vision of Escaflowne.
She is a graduate of Toyo University with a degree in sociology. She has also garnered awards and recognitions because of her voice acting skills. In the 23rd Anime Grand Prix, she ranked 10th place in the seiyuu category with 126 votes. She has also been nominated in the very first Seiyuu awards in the category Best Actress in a leading role for her portrayal of Haruhi Fujioka in the series Ouran Highschool Host Club. She was also nominated in the Best Musical Performance for the ending song Loop for Tsubasa Chronicles.
