Yuki collapses suddenly and is taken to the hospital, where Mirai agonizes over her brother's fate.

This is the episode where Mirai finally became a responsible caring sister. After knowing that her younger brother is in the hospital, Mirai really showed her concern towards Yuuki. She always asserts that she is always there for him..that she will take care of him. Mari, who became their mother-figure all throughout attended to Yuuki as he was brought to the hospital to seek medical attention.

It was kinda confusing if Yuuki is already dead or not. Initially, Yuuki was dead but it was all but a dream of the worried Mirai. When she woke up, she found a lively and energetic Yuuki playing around with the other children as if nothing has ever happened. This somehow calms and sooths Mirai since she knew that her brother is alive and well. She is so afraid that his brother might die and so seeing Yuuki playing is a big relief for her.

On the other hand, Mari was able to find out about her hometown and according to the news report, most of the people sought the refuge of the schools and churches so there's a possibility that her family is in one of those refuge sites.

Everything turns out to be well..with Yuuki recovering from his sickness, the three of them resumed their journey towards home.

  1. It's interesting how every single blogger (including myself) missed "it". Try rewatching the episodes, and try to wonder what the form was that Mari accepted, or why Yuuki was just fine after having surgery. Also, try watching the final scene before the ED plays.

Yeah.. I think the scenes lack continuity..scene 1 says that yuuki is then and then it somewhat moves to the other world where yuuki is alive.

yaaah. this is a very tricky episode. so that's the reason why mari has never talked to yuuki nor mentioned his name. it was only mirai who keeps on talking to his brother so that alone is a big proof of what really happened and yet I failed to realize it. hahah.
